Eric Lloyd is the Director of Public Relations at Harbor Strategic.

 

At Harbor, Eric works with our public relations and crisis communications clients to identify and develop the storytelling that will best connect you with your target audiences.  

 

For the last five years, Eric has served as the chief state capitol reporter for 9 &10 TV News (WWTV/WWUP), a top-rated CBS affiliate based in the Traverse City media market. 

 

While at 9 & 10, Eric led Northern Michigan’s best capital news coverage while interviewing leading state figures like Gov. Whitmer, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Attorney General Dana Nessel and the leaders of both parties in the state legislature. He also covered statewide politics, including the 2018 and 2022 races for governor, the 2022 presidential election, and countless federal and state races throughout that time.

 

In between those campaigns, Eric covered the key public policy battles in the state legislature, from the budget to key economic and civil rights battles that may define our state’s future for decades to come. 

 

Eric is also a sports expert, having played lacrosse in college and covered all kinds of sports for WZZM-ABC 13 in the Grand Rapids media market. He has a passion for college and professional sports that you can engage with on his Twitter account daily. 

 
A political independent who grew up in a union household, Eric is a graduate of Central Michigan University, where he studied broadcast and cinematic arts, journalism and sports journalism. He was born in Detroit and grew up in Southeastern Michigan, eventually graduating from South Lyon High School.
